Peer Mediator training
Supporting children to take responsibilities
The aim of the Peer Mediation Scheme is to introduce and develop leadership skills in children.
The aim of Peer Mediators is to introduce and develop leadership skills in children and young people by training them up and getting them to organise activities for other children in the playground and to manage conflicts through Restorative Approach. I can also provide training for mid-day meal supervisors and support staff to help all to work in harmony.
The main aim of the scheme is that it will increase the amount of physical activity undertaken during playtime and reduce the amount of anti-social behaviour and bullying at your school. It is hoped there will be a whole school impact in terms of children’s behaviour both at lunchtime and in afternoon lessons. The scheme will also hopefully raise self-esteem and self-confidence amongst children.
